Join us in supporting employee-owned businesses on #GivingTuesday, December 1!

We're Project Equity, and we're on a mission to foster economic growth in low-income communities through an innovative kind of small business: worker-owned cooperatives. We are participating in our first-ever #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving, in the hopes that you'll join us in supporting economic development in low-income communities.

What is #GivingTuesday?
In the same way that Black Friday and Cyber Monday kick off the buying season, #GivingTuesday kicks off the giving season. It’s a day to step back from the commercialization and consumerism that comes with the holiday season, and promote doing good for others.

Last year, more than 27,000 organizations in 68 countries came together to celebrate #GivingTuesday. Since its founding in 2012, #GivingTuesday has inspired giving around the world, resulting in greater donations, volunteer hours, and activities that bring about real change in communities. We invite you to join the movement and to help get out and give this December 1.

Your donation to Project Equity will go directly towards supporting the small businesses enrolled in our Cooperative Business Incubator.

We are excited to have recently launched our Cooperative Business Incubator, with a growing pipeline of future participant companies. The Incubator is designed to support successful existing businesses to transition to worker ownership, and to join a cohort of other businesses going through the same transition. The Incubator also serves the needs of existing coops with growth potential and aspirations. By participating in #GivingTuesday, you support our participating companies and their ability to build wealth for employees and worker-owners long into the future.

About Project Equity
Project Equity was launched in 2014 by Alison Lingane and Hilary Abell, two friends passionate about worker-ownership and building community level economic resiliency. We envision a future where business decisions are made through a lens of what is good for employees, for families, and for communities, leading to businesses that are more successful, communities that are more resilient, and workers who have stable jobs and economic security.

Project Equity works to create the path for more sustainable communities by scaling worker-owned cooperative business to realize the potential of this innovative business model.
